How to add and configure a Logic step

When building a workflow, it's not just about automating tasks, it's about automating them intelligently. That's where logic steps come in. These conditional steps act as the brain of your workflow, allowing you to control what happens next based on how users interact with your form or the data that's submitted.

By using logic steps, you can personalize responses, streamline operations, and ensure the right actions happen at the right time. Whether you're triggering different notifications, assigning tasks to the right team members, or simply avoiding unnecessary steps, logic is what turns a basic workflow into a smart, efficient one.

In this article, we’ll explore why logic steps are so important and how to use them effectively in your own workflows.

To get started, place your logic step on the builder. We'd recommend placing this step after or between the steps that you'd like to reference. For instance, let's say you'd like to only send out a notification email step if a condition was met on a form, like a customer opting to receive an email. 

After adding your logic step, you'll be prompted to name the step. Afterwards, you can click on the step itself or the three dots to make see the edit step option. 

After selecting the edit step option, you'll be taken to a new screen to add your first rule. 

Selecting the “Add logic rule” option will bring up a new screen where you can create the specific conditions that need to be met for this specific branch of your workflow. While creating your rule, you can have multiple conditions that need to be met whether it's multiple fields needing to meet certain conditions with the “and” option or if you'd like to use the “or” option to have this rule look consider the conditions indepently.

The logic step allows you to set multiple rules as well as a Fallback branch if none of the conditions from these rules are met. 

After configuring your step, you can close the window and view your new logic branch based on how you've setup your rule
