Unauthenticated Workflows let workflow builders make certain steps, such as forms or signature requests, accessible without requiring a Streamline login.
This enables quick, one-time interactions for external participants such as patients, customers, or vendors, while still maintaining full workflow control and security.
Common use cases include:
Quick Sign
Consent forms
Salesforce‑integrated workflows where requiring login is unnecessary
Who Has Access?
Admins, Managers, and Builders can edit projects and add these settings.
Operators cannot edit Workflow Canvas projects.
Authentication options are still configured at the Project level.
How to setup Authentication Options
Users can choose their authentication preference when creating a new project for the first time. Alternatively, you can adjust the user authentication method from the settings tab of your workflow.
Login Required (Default)
Users must log into the Streamline Organization associated with the shared project.
They do not need to be project members to view sessions—just logged into the org.
No Authentication
Sessions can be accessed and completed without any login.
Finding Authentication Settings
You can manage authentication options in Workflow Settings by:
1. Clicking the menu icon next to the Project Name.
2. Selecting the authentication mode you want to use and click save changes.
Sharing Workflows
To access share options for your Workflow, choose the Share option from your session/project page, next to the New Session button.
Unauthenticated workflows can be shared using four options:
Direct Link – Copy a URL to share directly.
Email – Send the workflow with an optional custom message.
SMS – Share via text with an optional message.
QR Code – Generate a scannable code for instant access.
💡 Tip: Email and SMS messages can include a personalized note for your recipients.
Feature Limitations
A project is either fully Public or fully behind a login in terms of authentication.
Share options can only be used one at a time.
