Notification Steps are a simple yet powerful way to stay updated on your projects/workflows. For example, you can set them up to send an email or SMS for any new form submissions. Whether you want to receive a full summary of each submission or send tailored notifications to specific team members based on how the form is filled out, you have flexible options to suit your workflow.
To get started, add the notification step to your project builder under the “Actions” section or by searching for "Notification".

After adding the step, name it. For this example, we're calling it the Email Notification step.

To make adjustments to your step, click on the step itself or the three dots to choose the “edit step” option.
Afterwards, you'll be taken to the edit section where you can choose Email or SMS as a notification option. We've created two separate sections below that cover the setup for each option.
Setting up an Email Notification
After you've selected Email as an option, you'll need to setup who the Email is being sent to as well as the subject and message that tells the recipient more about the information they are receiving. Drag and drop fields from previous steps if needed.
for example, lets say we'd like to send this Email notification to the person who filled out a form in the previous step, we can include the Email field from that step to dynamically determine who the notification is sent to.
Attachments
Underneath the Delivery section. you can select if you'd like to include a document or file from a previous step.
Please note that you can only include documents or files from a Form, Document or Sign step. Multiple attachments can be added as needed.
Once you're finished with setting up your email notification, you can click the x on the top right to save your changes.
Note: the attachments feature is only available when setting up an Email notification.
Setting up an SMS Notification
If you're selecting the SMS delivery option for the first time, you'll see a prompt to comply with the Intellistack SMS Services Terms of Service. After you've confirmed and accepted the prompt, you'll be able to setup next steps for your SMS notification.
The next step is to specify the recipients mobile number and customize the message they would see. In this example, we've brought over a phone number from our Form step to dynamically determine who the notification is sent to.
Once you're finished with setting up your SMS notification, you can click the x on the top right to save your changes.
