Configuring a Short Text Field on your Form Step

Short Text fields provide a streamlined way to collect concise, single-line information from users in form design. These fields are versatile and can handle simple responses like names, company details, or quick calculations.

How to add

Drag the field into your form using form builder tools

Customize field properties in the left-hand side panel like the Field Label. Check out our internal label If you'd like to create a unique internal field name you can target for data mapping and CSS styling. Add supporting text to give the field more context. 

Set up additional features like a placeholder or toggle to use a Callout. In addition, you can also make the field required or read-only. It can be hidden if you're just looking to pass a value and you can hide the label to customize it as needed. 

Some key advanced customization options include:

Setting some autofill options that will come up as suggestions as you type something similar.

Set minimum and maximum character limit constraints.

Setting a default value.
