The Date/Time field allows you to collect a snapshot of the date and time a form is submitted or capture past or future dates on your form.
Adding the Date/Time Field
To add the Date/Time field to your form: Open the Form builder & Drag and drop the Date/Time field from the left section.
Formatting the Date/Time Field
Once the Date/Time field is added to your form, you can customize its appearance and functionality:
Select the Date/Time field on your form. The Field Settings will appear on the left, where you can adjust the options for your field such as the Field Label or Internal Label.
Tip: If you'd like to make this field required or hidden, you can enable this feature underneath the label options.
Dropdown & Calendar View
You can select how you want the Date/Time field to appear on the form. The Dropdown and Calendar views allow users to pick dates and times more easily.
Dropdown View: Ideal for fields like Date of Birth where selecting the year might be difficult with a calendar.
Calendar View: Displays a traditional calendar for users to pick dates.
Date and Time Format
Customize how the date and time are displayed by choosing from the Date Format and Time Format dropdowns.
Example Date Format: Change from 12/31/18 to 31 Dec 2018.
Example Time Format: Change from 11:59:59 PM to 23:59 (24-hour format).
Note: If you do not want to capture the time or date, select None from the dropdown.
Year Selection Parameters
Customize your field further by hiding the time input option or using the current date/time as a default.
Limit the range of years that users can select from, either in the past or future by adjusting the Allowed years by Current - or +.
Set a minimum year (e.g., 2025) and adjust the maximum year (e.g., 2027).
Default year is the current year, but you can change it to suit your needs.
Example: If you only want users to request information from the current year or the upcoming three years, adjust the settings accordingly.
Exclude Past Dates
If you don't want users to pick a date in the past, you can disable all dates after the selected day, month, and year.
To activate this feature, set the Current Year - to 0 and then adjust the Current Year + to however far you'd like to go into the future.
Setting a Default Date/Time Value
You can pre-populate the Date/Time field with a default value, so users see the field already filled in when they access the form.
Examples of Default Values:
Tomorrow: Sets the field to tomorrow’s date and current time.
Tomorrow 3pm: Sets the field to tomorrow’s date at 3 PM.
NOW: Sets the field to the current date and time based on the user’s browser timezone.
