This article explains how to generate and manage API access keys in Streamline. These keys allow secure, authenticated access to our services through the API and inherit the permissions associated with your account.
Generating API Access Keys in Streamline
1. Access Your Profile
Navigate to your profile in Streamline.
Click on 'Edit Profile'.
2. Create a New Access Key
Scroll down to the 'Access Keys' section.
Click on 'New Access Key'.
Provide a name for the access key.
Set an expiration date (options: 30, 60, 90 days, or never).
Optionally, add a description for the key.
Click 'Continue'.
3. Copy Your Access Key
After creation, the access key will be displayed.
Copy the access key for future use.
The key will appear in the 'Access Keys' section of your profile, showing:
Name
Description
Status (Active or Revoked)
Creation Date
Expiration Date (if applicable)
Managing Access Keys of Org Users
Navigate to Access Keys
As an admin, access the account settings of your application.
Locate the page titled 'Access Keys'.
Manage All Org Access Keys
View all access keys generated by users on your organization
Click on the ‘3 dot’ menu next to any access key to edit or revoke the key
Managing Access Key Creation for Non-Admin Users
1.Navigate to Security Page
As an admin, access the security settings of your application.
Locate the section labeled 'Access Keys'.
2. Confirm Admin Privileges
3. Adjust Access Key Creation Settings
Click on the option to manage access keys.
Disable the ability for non-admin users to create access keys.
Admins retain the ability to create access keys.
Understand that this change restricts non-admin users from creating access keys for API use.
